SOAP with Attachments
This solution addresses a key need of organisations planning production use of Web Services, exchanging documents in a standards-based way.
Web Services are comprised of a set of ratified standards, including SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). The 'SOAP with Attachments' (SwA) specification is the ratified W3C specification for attaching files to messages. This standard is widely adopted in the Java community, and any organisation wanting to send documents/attachments over Web Services (i.e. SOAP) would generally use this standard.
The problem is that Java systems cannot interoperate with .NET-based systems as .NET does not directly support SwA, Microsoft having promoted their alternative standard, DIME.
Smart421 has implemented a .NET extension that provides native interworking between the .NET and Java worlds, with full support for SOAP with Attachments. Smart421 can supply and fully support this product, enabling organisations using .NET to fully participate in vertical market exchanges.
This solution is in use worldwide, and is certified for the Windows Platform Test - Windows Server Component.
