Senior J2EE Developer / Technical Architect
Location: Ipswich base (UK wide on
client sites)
Salary: £dependent upon experience
We are looking for an experienced hands-on J2EE Architect, ideally from a strong Consultancy background, to play a key role on a range of high profile integration projects with our blue chip client base. Role and responsibilites
The successful candidate will either be working on client sites or in our Ipswich office, assisting customers in defining and implementing integration strategies; this may be as an individual or as an integral part of a multi-skilled team.
The role will involve design of architecture, definition of specifications and hands on development. Working closely with the customer to identify key drivers and communicate the rationale and benefits for will require excellent interpersonal skills at all levels within an organisation.
Required Technical Experience
Essential
- A proven track record in designing and delivering complex enterprise-scale Java/J2EE solutions.
- Ability to gather business requirements and architect solutions based on those requirements.
- Good Analysis and Design skills (including experience with techniques/tools such as UML, Sparx System's Enterprise Architect, Rational XDE and WBI Modeler).
- First class design skills including the ability to draw up extremely accurate specifications that could be effectively utilised by development teams offshore as well as onshore.
- Good hands-on development skills in Java/J2EE and related technologies (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, EJB, JMS and Struts).
- Strong experience of Application Servers (preferably including IBM WebSphere).
- Experience and knowledge of Relational Databases (i.e. IBM UDB/DB2 and Oracle).
- Experience with multiple platforms (i.e. Windows 2000, AIX, HP-UX and Solaris).
- Involvement across the full project lifecycle (to successful deployment).
Desirable
- AExperience with Enterprise Application Integration technologies (i.e. the WebSphere Business Integration suite of tools).
- AExperience of leading a technical team.
- AStrong understanding of industry trends (i.e. Web Services / Service Oriented Architecture).
