Our sales model is a combination of direct and indirect through partners and alliances. The sales operation includes new business, key account management and channel management.

Our Sales strategy is focussed upon core propositions (Business Integration, storage services innovation and integrated storage solutions, Service Management & Innovation); complemented by industry vertical solutions. Our delivery capability is supported by a global resourcing model using onshore, nearshore & offshore resources. Selling our services going forward by identifying ‘business benefits’ and using both direct sales to clients and indirect sales through partners is critical to the role.

We are looking for sales professionals with a proven track record of selling high value services and solutions through both direct and in-direct channels. A high achiever with strong sales experience in our core proposition areas, you must be able to sell at an executive level into enterprise clients within a highly competitive environment.

Job Content

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director the primary objective is to identify and win new business either directly or through indirect channels. Key tasks will include:

  • Create, identify, evaluate and proactively pursue opportunities for providing managed services, projects and consultancy to customers enabling both up selling and cross selling
  • Build long term high level customer relationships
  • Build a qualified business pipeline of short, medium and long term opportunities
  • Produce bids, tenders and proposals that will win business and enhance the value and reputation of the organisation
  • Provide realistic and timely sales forecasting information to support Smart421's business planning process
  • Maintain accurate account plans and provide detailed weekly reports on each account clearly stating current projects, revenue, timescales, identify risks for existing projects, opportunities for each existing project and any new opportunities within the account
  • Monitor the level of customer satisfaction, and respond to customer queries and feedback, and ensure where necessary the corrective action is taken
  • Monitor the level and quality of business actually achieved
  • Ensure clear communication across the organisation facilitating a smooth handover to delivery, forward resource and financial planning.
Skills Required
    • An experienced sales professional with first hand knowledge of the full range of sales activities, processes and techniques in more than one of the following areas of IT:
    • Consultancy Services
    • Applications integration, development and consulting
    • Data Management
    • Data Centre
    • Service Management and Managed Services
  • Able to build and manage relationships within customers and partners at an executive level.
  • Will have a demonstrable track record in sourcing, negotiating and closing major solution and outsource contracts to blue chip clients.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage virtual teams of highly skilled and experienced professional colleagues during a sales campaign. A team player.
  • Must be able to sell on business benefits.
  • High degree of business acumen. Commercially aware and able to solve key business problems
  • Driven and results focused. Able to succeed through initiative, strong influencing skills , personal drive and determination
  • Flexible working - travelling to client meetings and sites around the UK on a regular basis is an essential component of the role and candidates must be prepared to travel. A driving licence is therefore essential.
