Award winning Bayer Diagnostics safeguards in-house patient testing equipment for hospitals
The Diagnostics Division of Bayer HealthCare develops machines that enable blood tests to be carried out in hospitals, rather than laboratories.
These machines use cartridges, which contain and store important data about their content, which is necessary for accurate test results.
The organisation needed to expand production while controlling quality. Smart421 implemented an RFID (RF Tag) based Production control system for the cartridges used in these systems.
As a result of the benefits realised by this system, Bayer and Smart421 were awarded an Infoconomy IT Effective Award for Most Effective use of IT in Manufacturing and Logistics
