ITIL Benchmarking: Short Term Wins and Long Term Benefits
e2v technologies, a leading supplier of RF, microwave and sensing systems and sub-systems is the first customer to benefit from Smart421's newly launched ITIL Benchmarking service.
Following its SAP implementation, e2v recognised the need to improve its support processes and increase its support efficiency, in order to realise the systems return on investment.
"We recognised that ITIL would deliver a clear managed services framework but were unsure how to effectively implement its processes" says Ed Heffernan, e2v's CIO
"Smart421's benchmarking service has identified areas where we are strong and areas where we are weak and enabled us to prioritise resources and generate an effective roadmap for implementing managed services."
Smart421's managed services experts assessed e2v's maturity in terms of ITIL, analysing data gathered from interviews with personnel using the ITIL process maturity framework (PMF). The findings were presented to e2v, with strategies for "quick wins" that would generate long term benefits as well as a detailed managed services implementation roadmap.
"Benchmarking processes in this way goes a long way towards giving organisations a clear picture of where they are today and where they need to go." comments Andy Budd, Smart421's Head of Managed Services
"Implementing an effective managed services methodology is a huge change programme, but knowing where to start is a major step forward. Smart421's benchmarking service delivers that starting point as well as providing a clear path to reaching their goals."
