Senior Java/J2EE Developer
Location: UK wide (Leeds-based)
Reporting to: Head of Delivery
Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will either be working initially on client sites in Leeds or other locations in the area, gaining exposure to a number of high profile projects in many business sectors with varying roles and responsibilities. The key to this role is flexibility; flexibility to transfer skills from project to project, move across sectors embracing new challenges and developing new skills while working to tight deadlines.
Skills / Experience
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years designing, developing and supporting enterprise Java / J2EE applications (mission critical systems)
- Proven ability to deliver production quality products within a structured project management environment (Prince2, Agile or similar).
- Experience of working on business critical Enterprise Application Integration projects
- Analysis and Design skills (i.e. tools such as OO, UML, Enterprise Architect, Rational XDE etc)
- Experience of Web Services and XML
- Good knowledge of Java / J2EE best practices and standard design patterns.
- Excellent working knowledge of Oracle 9i, 10g and 11 Database
- Proven troubleshooting/investigation skills
Desirable:
- Unit Testing via JUnit or similar
- Test Driven Development
- Build control using ANT, Maven,
- Continuous Integration using Hudson/ Jenkins or equivalent
- Previous experience of working in the telecommunications industry (highly desirable)
- Experience of using Subversion for source control
- Experience of using SOAPUI for scripted integration testing of SOA services
- Experience with Spring Framework (Core, MVC, Weblow)
- Solid experience of the Unix family of platforms
- Excellent working knowledge of Application server technology such as WebLogic Application Server, IBM Websphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, Oracle Application Server, JBoss, etc
- Experience with Oracle SOA suite, BPEL, Selenium
Training:

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a consultancy background to play a key role on a range of high profile projects with our blue chip client base. With first class customer facing skills and a genuine passion for quality / professional delivery, you will be looking for a new challenge with a company that genuinely recognises and rewards its star performers.

Overview
To capture, understand, analyse and prioritise the business requirements and to produce a statement of the business needs in business terms. To work with technical consultants to determine the most appropriate solution for the situation (combination of existing practice, legacy infrastructure, business sector trends etc.).
Experience
Essential
- Good working knowledge of UML; particularly Use Cases, Class Diagrams and sequence or collaboration diagrams.
- The ability to organise and facilitate workshops
- Strong knowledge/experience of the full project lifecycle
- Excellent analytical skills - the ability to view a problem from different angles, to formulate recommendations and to support any chosen solution with a reasoned and persuasive argument.
- Excellent communication skills. The ability to explain complex business problems to a wide audience (from the business or IT departments).
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide variety of business clients, suppliers and IS staff
- Good customer presentation and facilitation skills
- Problem solving ability
- The ability to gather and assimilate multiple sources of information e.g. requirements, business processes

- Business process identification, modelling and documentation.
- Experience with a process modelling tool such as WBI Modeller, ARIS, and Casewise
- A good working knowledge of analysis techniques –Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Agile / eXtreme Programming methods
- Previous experience of requirements capture using structured methodologies.

- Previous big 5 consultancy experience or equivalent

Microsoft Developer - SharePoint
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Developer, ideally with a Consultancy background, to play a key role on a range of high profile Microsoft projects with our blue chip client base. Ideally with MCP/MCTS/MCSD qualifications to compliment your commercial experience, you will have extensive n-tier or SOA experience in a Web-forms, Win Form or Web Service Development environment using C#, ASP.Net v1.1 to 4.0 of the .NET framework, XML and SQL Server. With first class customer facing skills and a genuine passion for quality / professional delivery, you will be looking for a new challenge with a company that genuinely recognises and rewards its star performers.
Technical Experience
Essential
- Good hands-on development skills in C#, and ASP.Net coupled with a sound knowledge of the .NET Framework from v1.1 to 4.0.
- Experience of UML and Microsoft design patterns and Practices, Enterprise Application blocks, UML Component, Class, Sequence diagrams.
- Demonstrable experience across the full project lifecycle
Desirable
- Experience with Enterprise Application Integration technologies (particularly Sharepoint 2007/2010, WCF and Web Services, SOA approaches)
- Experience with a range of MS products e.g. Biztalk, CRM, Visual Studio and TFS
- Experience with SQLServer including core database design, implementation and maintenance and exposure to Analysis, Integration and Reporting services
- Experience of leading a technical team
- 3rd Party tools such as FXCop, NUnit, NCover, CruiseControl
Microsoft Technical Architect - SharePoint or BizTalk
- A proven track record in designing and delivering complex n-tier, enterprise-scale Microsoft solutions
- Extensive experience in building architectures based on Microsoft technologies (C#, .Net, DNA)
- Involvement across the full project lifecycle (to successful deployment)
- Good experience with and knowledge of UML and design patterns
- Ability to gather business requirements and architect solutions based on those requirements
- First class design skills including the ability to draw up accurate specifications
- Good hands-on coding skills in C# and ASP.Net and SQL Server
- A delivery focused attitude with the ability to drive tasks forward and meet demanding deadlines
